I had just purchased a home in June. Because this home had been left vacant for 1-2 years there were several plumbing problems/leaks due to sitting for so long. It was then that I called upon Ishler's Plumbing of Bellefonte PA. The owner (Ken Ishler) and a worker came to my place to assess what needed to be done free consultation. I told them I did not have a lot of money to spend and I was assured his company was reasonable.

The work started July 7. One man came to install 3 sink fixtures and 2 hose connections and replace the inside parts on the toilet. This man spent most of the day doing these things, with me running to get parts he needed and using my money for them. I asked about him fixing the drain in the bathtub because it wouldn't hold water. Then he and another man (why was there 2 men this time) came to fix this a week or so later. (I'd say it was a one-man job and since there were 2 men I assume I was charged double the hourly rate why?!!) They took at least 4 hours to do this and then the one man left and I had the other stay to install (I had someone else run the wiring) the garbage disposal which may have taken another hour. All the above was done in July.

Though, I still wanted them to work on my water softener, I was told by the worker that the owner would have to do that because he knows nothing about it. Later that day I called the owner and told him that the tub was still not holding water. He said he'd be by to check it out. After about two more calls he finally decides to come and he's there for 5 minutes and says he's done. And he didn't have the time to check the water softener.in the meantime, I called a water softener company to help me with the softener. $200 later the water softener is running and the filters have been changed by a company other than Ishler's Plumbing.

Many months pass and we're now in November and Mr. Ishler decides to call me and ask when he can drop the bill by for us to settle up well, I told him that the tub was still not holding water and I wasn't paying until it was fixed. More time goes by and I don't here from or see Mr. Ishler. Then in early January I get a bill in the mail from Ishler's Plumbing for $540. Now, this is after I paid for many of the parts that were used and after still having a bathtub that will not hold water. The bill states some of the work that was done and it also states work that WAS NOT done by his company start up and adjust water softener which I already paid someone else $200 to do.

I called him on February 11 and told him directly that I want an itemized bill and again on March 5. He just has Material and Labor = $540 written on the bill but it does not say what materials or how many hours of labor he is talking about. Since I already see he's trying to charge me for work he nor his company workers DID, I am waiting to see the itemized bill before I send him any money.

Ken Ishler (company owner) comes to start working in July and as of March all the jobs his company started were still not complete to customer satisfaction (bathtub still leaks water). Then he had items on his bill that were done by another company falsifying items on my bill. (I have a receipt to back this up.) Now, only a year later after paying him his money my kitchen sink leaks underneath where his company hooked up my garbage disposal. I called him to come fix it since he assembled the plumbing in the first place and of course, he's not been by to fix the problem. Steer clear of this company _ total headache and rip off!!
