Stole thousands of dollars from me and nearly destroyed my life

Howard L. Blau claimed to be my lifelong soulmate and beloved fiance. Through charm and cunning, he gained my utmost confidence. I entrusted him with tens of thousands of dollars in client monies. I also referred many clients to him, who in turn, gave him money. I turned around my whole life to revolve around this man, and spent thousands more on him on lavish gifts and vacations, while helping to set up a new office for him.

I found out in Jan that he had stolen all of the client monies he was supposed to have in escrow, and that he had been sued repeatedly by others for malpractice and theft of client funds. I also found out that the NYS Disciplinary Committee was moving to suspend and disbar him for conversion of client funds and other wrongdoing. Of course, my "beloved" had hidden all of this from me, while stealing my clients' money and forcing me to replace thousands which he failed and refused to return.

"Howie" Blau cost me many more thousands in lawyers' fees to protect myself and thousands again in moving costs and related expenses so that I could "divorce" myself from him. He never once admitted fault or expressed any remorse whatsoever. Within days of my confronting him, he was out scouting for new girlfriends—sometimes his clients—professing the same lifelong love and devotion, like a serial rapist.

He caused me complete pain and agony; he betrayed me on every level. I'm still suffering physically, psychologically, emotionally, professionally, and financially. He is the worse thing that ever happened to me.

If you or anyone you know is a victim of this man, I urge you to report it. He has been getting away with fraud for years, and it needs to stop.
