Overcharging Poor Customer Service

Do your research and make an informed decision about this company. I recently (June) had to employ this company for a move after another moving company cancelled on the day of my move. The only good thing I can say about my experience is the fact that American Van Lines was able to schedule my move in a very short time frame.
I provided a complete list of items that I needed moved and was given a binding quote from my sales person "Mary", she advised my items were about 700 square feet. She gave me a cash only price and in reflection I should have known that a company who only deals in cash is a BIG RED FLAG. She also advised all moving blankets were free but what she did not tell me was that I would be charge an additional $72 dollar for 4 rolls of tape to adhere the blankets to my items. I spoke in length of a large warbrode chest, a mirror and 2 glass table tops which I was told to wrap in moving blankets (which I did) however I was not told of the addtional $450 it would require to get these items into the truck. At some point the moving foreman decided I exceeded my 700 square feet and it would require again an additional $450 to get my dining room table and 4 chairs. I decided to leave them instead of paying.
I have not received my items in my new location and have called several times requesting a delivery date. "Mary" has not been able to provide a delivery date as of today July 7th. I am waiting for additional storage charges as I write this. I am at a point of attempting to locate my belonging and hire another company to go get them from American Van Lines East to complete the move.
Do your research of this company and get the facts of all the addtional hidden fees before hiring American Van Lines East.
I will never use a moving company again but instead will sell all my "stuff" and start all over again.in the long run it will be cheaper.
