Tax Masters
Ripped me off of 1050.00. They wanted 3600.00, but not another penny

I contacted Tax Masters to see if they could help me get a reduced amount I owed on my 2006 return. I failed to report a dispursment payment from one of my retirement accounts. They gave me the same song and dance as the other victims of their scam.

They tried to explain how their people worked for the IRS and knew people in the IRS. They could get me the lowest interest rate for my debt. They also would look for mistakes the IRS might have made. I gave them a down payment with my credit card of 1050.00.

They emailed me some papers to sign and fax back to them. These papers would give them power of attorney to look at my taxes. I decided to contact another agency, and they told me it was a scam. I then went to the internet and found more complaints. I contacted them to cancel my business with them, but they threatened me with a verbal agreement on the phone.

I have not sent them any signed documents. I tried to stop payment on my credit card, but it had already gone through. I canceled the card so they could not make anymore withdrawls. I have placed a complaint with the BBB of Houston, but what I am reading is no one has received a refund. Does any one know on anything I can do to get my money back? I could use it to pay the IRS. What will it take to get these people arrested.
