Ripoff consumer rip-off fraud

I received a call on Nov 15 from a woman who spoke fast and was saying that I was approved for a 2500.00 limit Visa. She gave more info making it all sound like a normal call with a visa company. She said that it would be a 1 time only fee of $221.95. Since I was had trouble getting a card from another company do to something negative on my credit report, I thought okay I will do this. I needed the 2500.00 to pay off some medical bills I had.

I was transfeed to a comformation center rep to confirm everything was correct and agreed upon and then he gave me a tracking number and a draft date that the $221.95 would be deducted from my account. He also gave me a number being 678-239-0133 to call if I don't recieve the card or need future contact. A very weird thing about this was I was on and off with my bank and credit union talking to them about getting a possible personal loan for the medical bills. This call came in between all my other calls on the same day.

I was sorta crying because I was overwhelmed with the medical bills. When I call the number it is a answering maching of a person trying to sound like the operator saying that all circuts are busy. Then after hours you get a message saying they are close. I went to the internet and tried to look up Lenox Capital. Not there. Then I put in the phone number I was given and it took me to a list of sights where this number and bank names associated with it was reported for scam.

I placed a police report in my city. The police said if everyone placed a report on this situation then it would be more a chance they would be caught. But if only a few people report it, they will not bother investigating it.

So PLEASE if you have been ripped of by these people... REPORT it to your police and make a report... This way it can be found, since it appears to be happening around the U.S. I was embarresed and feel stupid. They got me on a day where I was crying over bills literally, and I fell for it. I feel like a fool. But embarrassed or not... Report it. They probably think people won't report it because we feel dumb... BUT REPORT it to your local police...
