Quick Trip Movers
Liars, law-breakers, cheaters, and unprofessionalism, despite going through the BBB

Shops, Products, Services

I had Quick Trip to load, transport, and unload the items in my 1 bedroom apartment from Mobile, AL to Carmichael, CA. I was given a BINDING moving estimate of $1176 based on 2000 pounds 6/24/07. On 6/24 I received another estimate of 2500 pounds, stating that this estimate is binding for $1543. On moving day 7/17, Luis gave me the Bill of Lading, stating that my final cost was going to be $1695 after $137 worth of additional packing. I paid in advance a total of $900. On 7/18 Al called me and said my load weighed 3200 pounds and my new price is $2102 after adding $408 for the additional weight. I had a binding agreement and my price should not have changed. Regardless, I asked for proof of my weight upon delivery.

Al told me that I would receive weight tickets from a certified weight scale when the drivers delivered my items. On 8/4 the drivers did not have my weight tickets. I asked them to do a reweigh, but they would not comply, violating federal law. They would not hand over my items until I had paid $1202, stating that this was the remaining balance. They held my items hostage (another federal violation) until I paid the money, without proof and in violation of a binding agreement.

Even if I had a non-binding agreement, this is more than 110% of the estimate price and is illegal. I called 8/6 asking for my weight tickets/freight bill, my federal right. I have called a total of 15 times to resolve the issue. Al said he could not find my weight tickets, and I need to get quotes from 5 different companies and send them to him. I sent him an e-mail detailing the name of the person, name of the company, phone number, job reference number, and weight quote. All of these estimates range around 2500 pounds. I asked for a refund of the money added to my bill. I called again and Al told me that I need to have 5 companies come into my home and give me quotes, not based on phone/e-mail. I asked to speak to the owner, Jeremy, who hung up in my face and will now not accept any of my calls.

I then filed a report with the Georgia Better Business Bureau, BBB, to get a refund. Quick Trip stonewalled, took the maximum time to respond, and ultimately the case was "adminstratively closed" by the BBB because Quick Trip was reluctant to cooperate.

Quick Trip Movers are nothing but liars, law-breakers, cheaters, and unprofessional to say the least. Don't expect anything but headaches and a HUG RIP-OFF!
