Poor customer service

When I saw the Armadillo I said "that's the hose for me". It arrived in about 5 days, and I immediately hooked it up to my pool. I went inside to get a glass of water and when I came out, the hose was leaking everywhere.

I immediately called the manufacturer and left a message (believe me - every time you call, you will only be able to leave a message, no one ever answers the phone). The owner called me back in about two days. He was very gracious and offered to send a new hose immediately. He even told me to keep the old one as it would be expensive to send it back.

The new one arrived in a few days and I immediately hooked it up. And it immediately started to leak. That was back in the middle of April.

I have left numerous messages since then and in fact after about my fourth message someone from the company called me. We talked for quite a while and he blamed a subcontractor in Georgia for the problem. I asked him if he would send me the parts to fix it as I did not want to take advantage of their previous kindness to me. He said he would speak to the owner and call me right back.

That was May 19, and that is the last I've heard from him or anyone else at the company. I called him and the company's main number at least three times since then. The man's phone is now disconnected.

I am really interested in seeing what excuse they are going to make for not following up. If they say to send it back under warranty and they will reimburse me, all well and good, but I just want a hose that doesn't leak, not my money back.

To those of you who are considering buying one, be aware of the leak problem and their failure to respond to inquiries. But if it ever does work, it is a great idea.
