When will people learn?
When it comes to child modeling, if anyone asks you for money, RUN, and run fast. It makes absolutly no difference weather they call themselves an agency, a management company, or a horseback riding school, RUN. Just ask yourself a question. Why are they soliciting me? You receive a letter in the mail about a child ad kids never saw. You call in. They ask you a few bogus questions about your child and set up an appointment. You get there, they ask you for $680.00. You pay them and walk out with a 10 cent folder which contains a contract worth even less. Then you go to their photographer. You pay him an additional $25 for 12 pictures. He then tries to sell you a set of photos for yourself at his inflated prices. Nice little racket, isn't iit?
Your money is going into the hands of the salesman and the companys pockets. Your childs photos are kept in a file cabinet where it sits for three years. That's it. They will never give you a refference, nor a percentage of how many kids actually get work. Do you know why? The percentage is so small it would be embarrassing. The kids you see in ads hanging on the walls in the lobby at ad kids are so old they are probably out of college by now.
