Located In Livonia, MI But "looking To Expand Internationally" false advertising, waste of time, door to door sales, not marketing position, not sports and events marketing, a big scam

I would like to begin by thanking the two that have reported this company before me - you saved me from a day of hell with a car full of unintelligent "account managers" that looked to be recent high school graduates.

I thought I found my dream job when I came across a job posting for JMP Promotions through Careerbuilder.com. I was thrilled when I was called for a first interview and I was ecstatic when I was called back for a second. Fortunately I came across this website before going in for my second interview.

Nate called the day of my first interview to congratulate me and invite me back for a second interview that was to last all day (9:15 A.M. To 6:00 P.M.) He asked that I bring a notebook and wear comfortable shoes. After reading the other complaints about this company I realized what the comfortable shoes were for. To walk door to door selling coupon books.

My "second interview" went as follows: Myself and another candidate for the position were brought up to Nate's office where we met with one of his Account Managers who were "willing to take time out of their day" to take us out on our second interview. At the end of the day we were to come back to the office and fill out a questionnaire about the day and answer some terminology questions. Then we were off! Where to? Who knows! Doing what? I only knew because of riporrreport.com...

We proceeded to get into the Account Manager's vehicle which barely started and had more rust than my dad's '90 mini van. Rather than discussing what was going on the AM talked of the weather, the driving time it took to get to the office, etc. So as we were pulling off I finally asked what the hell we were doing. That's when he finally said "Oh yeah, I guess I should tell you guys just in case you're not interested so you don't have to go any further." He said that he was taking us to NOVI for business-to-business sales (which for JMP Promotions happens to be door-to-door sales).

I understand that sales is part of Marketing and that it was part of the Entry Level Position I was applying for. So I asked how much of the training would be door-to-door sales. He said that it all depends on how quickly the person catches on. Usually 6-12 months.

That is when I said my goodbyes, hopped in my car, and drove home.

I am a recent college graduate with a BBA in Marketing. I thought I finally found the perfect job and all I got was Nathan Porter - scammer of Livonia, MI. Much like a "cheesy car salesman" the previous poster described.

I should have known from the beginning that this place was a dud. The physical office, the conversations between staff, their dress - all VERY unprofessional. Another thing was that the receptionist answered the phone as "Marketing" and their business cards didn't have the company name on them.

Unless you want a door-to-door sales job for a sketchy boss in a sketchy office, this is not the job for you. Don't waste your time!!!
