Didn't investigate violations on new property practically forced me to sign at closing and overcharged for the whole process

This lawyer overcharged us for a closing, required half up front and the first closing did not go through and when we found another property, did not tell me the first deposit was non-refundable. So (if I had known better!) I had to pay $1200 for the real closng plus 450 the first time so she ended up taking $1600 from us. At closing, the house had a violation on it, did not tell us before the closing that there was a violation on the house. It was a fine on the house and did not even tell us how much it was or what it was. At closing we were told that if we didn't sign, that we wouldn't be able to buy the house. This was someone representing us! And they didn't.

After closing, she asked me to give her the balance in cash and did not give me a receipt. I recently had another closign with another lawyer who knows her and his response was "She's very sloppy" so I guess she's done this before to other people. Please if you are in the NY/Westchester area, do not use for your real estate transactions.
