Not a good value

I hired Marston Mills when I was moving to Chicago from California at the end of 2007. Basically, I concur with everything Michael from Oak Ridge, Tennessee wrote. Marston presents itself as highly customized and tailored to you specifically, but it's really more cookie-cutter. Also, their techniques for "getting you a job" are outdated.
Here's what will happen: Jim Johnston will interview you to get a basic understanding of what you're looking for in a job. He will tell you that you should be targeting a really high salary to get you "hooked". Then, someone from his team will re-write your cover letter and resume (not a bad service), and they will generate a spreadsheet of phone numbers and contact names at "target companies". You are then to send your newly formatted resumes and cover notes to all of these targets and then follow up with phone calls. I called approximately 120 targets and got no solid leads. Sending a resume and calling is very 1990's and most companies don't like unsolicited resumes and phone calls. Also, the target sheet I got from them contains some good info, but it's probably available online falrly easy. A lot of the info on my target list was outdated too.
Overall, not worth 1500 bucks. I was very disapppointed in my purchase.
