Marston Mills, This place is HORRIBLE

Miscellaneous

I was also an employee of Marston Mills. I cannot begin to express how terribly they treated their employees. It is like a sweat shop. The work is mind numbingly boring. There were days where I couldn't bear to get out of bed because I couldn't face the thought of going through another day of such stupid, pointless, and deceitful work.

Upon being hired Jim Johnston promised a $5k bonus for each quarterly project that you complete (outside of work hours). He and Elizabeth go on to assign you so much work that it's impossible to finish, effectively keeping you at the base rate.

Also, they would fire hard working employees people at random. One girl had been working there for a year, and had never taken a vacation.in the fall she got extremely sick, (mono to the point where her organs were swelled, she seriously looked like death), and was out of work for a week. When she returned the following week looking terribly ill, they told her not to come back!

I was let go after they had "time issues" with me. You might ask, what were those time issues? I used my allotted personal days to attend a funeral of a very close family member! Also, when they decided to let me go, they didn't even do the courtesy of talking to me in person.instead they left me a voicemail message on the day after Christmas!

The reverse search actually consists of some poor sucker of a recent grad sitting on a phone all day with an excel sheet open, dialing up companies and trying to get contact information. The usual method (recommended by Elizabeth Karkowski) is to flat out lie to the receptionist by saying that you are from some organization like The American Financial Association, The American Medical Association, etc and that you're calling to invite so-and-so to a conference. Seems fraudulent to me! Rarely does this come up with accurate results, as receptionists are smart enough to not give out company info at random (duh that's why executives don't answer their own phones). One employee, acting out in defiance and frustration at Jim Johnston and the task at hand, ended her futile search by writing "Bill Gates" down as the contact person for Microsoft.

Also, Jim Johnston is Elizabeth Karkowski's FATHER. I'm not really sure why they try to hide this. Elizabeth doesn't actually do any work herself, instead spends the day shopping online, searching match.com and stalking potential dates online, and talking about her incredibly lame hobby of "stamping".

This is the absolute worst place to work ever. I do not recommend hiring them for any service EVER. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration and just forget it.
