You must be patient & demanding to get them to do the right thing

I live in the 239 area code & I ordered then promptly received the magicjack they promised, but after plugging it into my usb port, & 10 minutes of downloading program, after program, then filling out forms, it gives you the area codes it works in (it will work, but all persons who call u locally incur long distance charges, cause they have no local area code.)

I then commenced a half hour chat with a native of India called Abigail, who insisted on trouble shooting, before I finally said, for the 5th time, I want u to email me a prepaid return shipping lable, and i dont want to incur one red cent of charges, since u could have told me BEFORE u sent me the magicjack, that u didnt have a local number for me in my area code. "Just use it sir, u can call anywhere for free, just pick an area code, then the phone is usable."

Never could get the info I wanted out of her, & she gave me a web address, which too, is poorly constructed, for the return, promising a return email with instructions for the return. I filled it out, & 3 days later, still had not heard from anyone. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact i have a good, cheap VOIP providor, so long distance is free to me, it would still be useful to someone who didn't have a cheap alternative. However, if u r using this service as your ONLY phone, then all your friends and relatives who live locally, would incur long distance charges everytime they called u.

Anyway, my second chat session lasted over 1 hour and 45 minutes, chatted almost verbatim as my first call, then I demanded over & over to speak to a supervisor, before they finally gave in, and he said, "Just do what u want with the jack, throw it away or anything, your account will NOT be charged. I saved the 40 pages of chat in case they attempt to charge me, but I have a feeling they will not. They are just inept, in all phases of business but advertising (Every major network has run a story on their amazing little device.)
