No services after inital meetings, no promised access to undisclosed job opportunities ripoff fraud business

Shops, Products, Services

A slaesman experienced in all sorts of phsycological key words and phrases plays on an individuals work search situation with the promise of access to 'unpublished job listings.' They have you bring your spouse and put out the promise of finding jobs and helping you switch careers through an 'intensive' series of meetings to hone interviewing skils and to help highlight work experience for the new field you hope to enter.

They will then rewrite your resume and give you access to this list of clients they have who do not publish job openings. They make it sound that they groom you for these clients, and they constantly refer to them, and after you complete their training you will have access to these job listings.

It's crock. They bring your spouse to put pressure on you to sign up. They use what is now very apparent and effective selling tactics. The salesman is not your eventual 'counselor.'

You are handed to someone else who goes through a series of 1 hour meetings that don't accomplish a whole lot. But since you are invested for close to $5000 you keep at it because they keep making promises that they are almost ready to market you. They take the things you are interested in and suggest they they know people in the field and will make contacts for you. My 'counselor' knew I was a sports fan and I was in film and televsion production so everyweek he droped names of people in the film industry and the sports field. People he said he was having lunch with or golf outings. It was a lie.

You also have to sign a documant at each meeting saying you are so far satisfied with what's going on but it's impossible to tell because they keep rpomising that you are almost ready for them to take you to the next step.

They rewrote my resume which i had to redo myself because they did such a bad job. I sent theirs out to a few career counselors to get feed back and they all said the same thing, that it was a terrible resume. So I ahd to redo it. When I sent my new resume to them to repost on their web site they never did it. I faxed it, emailed it, called them but never got a reply from my 'counselor' who is supposed to work with me for 3 years after signing up with them.

And after all these meetings (there were 7 one hour meetings) all they did was print out a list of local companies geared to the intersts I listed at the beginning of their 'program.' This is a list readily available to anyone from any number of sources. It was merely names and addresses and some skelatla company bios.

And then after the last meeting I'm told I am going to now learn about Google. That is the entire sum of their service. They tell you how to use a search engine. I have been doing internet searches for years. I know more about search engines and the internet than anyone at Haldane. There is no secret list of unpublished jobs. They have no 'clients' that use them as headhunters. They make no recommendations for you to any companies. All they do is post your resume which you can do at any number of websites... For free.

It was a sham. Perfectly executed. When you're out of work because of economic turn downs or upheaval in your industry and you become somewhat desperate, what they sell seems wonderful. You take money you can't afford and invest it in yourself. It was a rip-off of money i couldn't afford to spend. So you don't only feel guilty about being out of work, now you spent money you and your spouse didn't have for somehting that was nothing more than a scam.
