'Thief in the Night' Rip off - All empty promises

Like so many who have dreams of advancing their careers and finding that one perfect job, I sought the advice and expertise of people and organizations who I believed would help me. I saw the advertisement for Bernard Haldane. I spoke with one of their representatives over the phone before going into their office for an official meeting.

My counselor was very convincing and spoke passionately about how he could help me find my dream job. I mentioned my limited financial resources and he responded that Bernard Haldane understands that we can't all be a "Rockafeller" and that they have a number of financial package options that might better meet my budget. Well, needless to say, I paid over $3,000.00 for their services which promised to find me a new job. They also promised to be very involved with the interviewing process, do prospecting and forward referrals and job leads to me. All empty promises.

My job search only progressed because of the work that I did on my own. I secured a position myself with no assistance from them. However, they were very interested in recording my new position in their files and wanted me to write a letter expressing my satisfaction with their program. Guess what, they will never get such a letter of recommendation or praise from me. To this day, Bernard Haldane's only involvement with my career aspirations is the up-dating of my resume. This service, at least, is free!!!

This has been one of the most disappointing professional experiences of my career. I thought that I was making an investment in my career at the time I signed a contract with Bernard Haldane. It never occurred to me that they were out to take advantage of folks who only want to better themselves and to be successful.

I will never recommended to anyone including people that I don't particular care for to seek any services or advice from Bernard Haldane. Beware Pittsburgh, PA and beware world of Bernard Haldane, 'Thief in the Night;!!
