Response from the FTC!

Hi Everyone,

In August of Publishers Business Service called me at work and asked me to participate in a survey promising a free gift in the end. Like everyone else here I had a huge problem canceling their service with their whole "non-cancelable verbal contract" deal. Judging by their billing practices I would be paying over a thousand dollars over a 36 month period of time.

I took the advice of some on this site and sent them a very threatning letter and a few days later they sent me a letter stating my account is canceled. Thought that would be the end of the story, but a few days ago, a lawyer for the FTC (I contacted the FTC in my distress) called me saying they are doing an investigation on this company. Hopefully this poor excuse of a business won't be operating soon.
