Back charges due for magazine subscription ripoff!

I started recieving phone calls that would only ring once or twice and then hang up before i could get to them, and not leave a voicemail. So i called the number back only to get hold of a supposed debt collection agency. They said they were collecting back charges due for a magazine subscription i might of had more than ten years ago! And i could pay this 119.08 convieniently right over the phone. I said i dont pay bills over the phone, and asked them to mail it to me instead. They said if i didnt pay soon it could hurt my credit, i said im in the process of refinancing my house and have a copy of my credit report right in front of me and it didnt say anything about an outstanding debt to a magazine subscription from ten years ago. My credit score is 730, so its pretty good, so dont you think there would be something in the credit report if there was anything to actually worry about? Well thats what i thought, so to my surprise a bill did show up in the mail, but instead of mailing my payment back in the envelope provided, i sent back a copy of usacomplaints.com with the name of their company in bold letters being accused of fraudulant practices.
