Blue Bay Advisors
Took all our money, did not put our timeshare up for sale

Shops, Products, Services

I have had my 2 timeshares in Maui, Hawaii Listed for sale.in October, Blue Bay Advisors of Orlando, Fl, called me on the phone soliciting my business for their services of advertising my timeshare for sale. The salesman, Enrique Melendez, said that they would be paid only after the timeshare was sold, which would be a 4% commission of the total. However, in order to expedite the process and make sure they could close the sale immediately when they got an offer, they required me to send them a $237.50 for an Estoppal letter for each condo - $470.00 total, and $295.00 for the title insurance for a total charged by them of $770.00.

Mr. Melendez urged me to get them the money immediately and he promised that my unit would be a featured showcase property the following week at a timeshare show in Orlando Convention Center. He assured me that mine was a very popular timeshare and they should have no trouble selling it quickly. They were also supposed to advertise it in numerous publications, internet websites, etc. I have since been given no proof of such advertising.

They did put one of the two timeshares on their website: however, their search does not show my particular web page for the timeshare unless you put in their particular # that they assign to my timeshare, which only I would know. If you try to look for any timeshare in Maui on their website, mine does not come up in the search. If you ask for one in Hawaii, mine does not come up in the search. I informed them in early November, and was told they they were aware of problems with their website and would have it fixed immediately, After it was not fixed, I called twice, once in late November and again in early December, and was only give the salesman's voice mail, which he never returned either of my detailed messages. To this day our ad only shows up if you know the # they gave us and you have to do three back pages to find it, when Hawaii shows up. The normal person looking for this would NEVER find it.

I also found out that THE buyer is the one who normally pays for an Estoppal letter or title insurance fees at the closing of the sale, so that seems to have been made up to get money from me initially. They have never given me any proof that my timeshares were in any "timeshare showcase" nor have they ever produced an Estoppal letter or proof of a title insurance search. This indicates fraud to me and breach of contract.
