Will Not Issue Refunds with Gift Receipts

Lane Bryant does not honor its own gift receipts.

I recently returned some items that I'd receved as gifts and found out that they will only issue store credit, even if you have a gift receipt. They do not consider a gift receipt an ORIGINAL receipt, even though it is offered and issued at the same time as the original purchase, so they treat the gift receipt the same as if there were no receipt at all.

I questioned this practice and the reason for issuing gift receipts at all, but all I got was prerehearsed answers about store policy and how I am welcome to find other items in the store.

This experience confirms the decision I made several years ago to stop shopping at Lane Bryant. Now others need to know about it. They would benefit from more customer-friendly policies.
