My name is Phil and i am the owner of Rooftop Roofing. I used to run upwards of 120 people and won Young Entrepener of the year for Rooftop Rooftop of Canada. We are are in business in Canada (very small-Father runs) and Boca Raton Florida. Anyways, i am very downsized and very picky about our salespeople. After many years you become very wise. I basically run about 2 salesmen now and hired Edward Humphies about about Mid December to help build our website. He worked in my home for about ten days. I had his resume at that time, but with Christmas rush didn't run a background check.

After he completed the website i told him i will go on a couple sales calls with him to see how he handles himself. This was now about Dec 22. He knows his stuff and is very creative about the business. Anyways, all my family from Pensacola came in for christmas and he was invited by me to come out for a couple of drinks. We returned home about 11:30 pm on the 28th December and concerned he may have had a little to much to drink told him he was welcome to spend the night or i'll get him a ride home. I had a lot of family in at our home, so there were all my cousins around.

I woke up the next morning to go to the store and my company truck was missing. Eventually reported it stolen. Then a credit card from that night turned up with several hundred dollars charged to it, when my credit card company shut it down there was many other charges pending. My cousin Alison was missing $300.00 dollars out of her purse and total damages to my truck were $2300 (so Far) He stoled my truck, credit card and money from my cousins.

After all this, i made a full police report to Boca Raton #000085 and he still wanted to work for me. I told him i would drop all charges if he made me whole and paid the $3000.00 in damages. He said okay, but then couldn't come up with the money and resorted threating by calling the IRS, sending people over, calling the state, filling for back wages, the big one (crashing my website and redirecting traffic), creatating false reports on the internet, etc.

Well, i have been in business a long time, have a great track record and know far too many people in the roofing business. I have been a state licensed adjuster in Florida and Texas for many years. I don't think he realized my experience level since i keep my company very small and controlled now. So, i am pressing full charges, sending a fax to all local roofing companies and have been researching him. He has left a trail of destruction from Nebraska, New Jersey and Florida.

I have hired a private eye to investigate him and document his threats. I don't like being threatened, intimidated, and some nut trying to scare me, plus everyone should take a stand against someone this, so i will, in the near future file several civil suits out of principal. Its very sad because he has a lot of potential & knowledge but is just a bad apple. Please beware and google future companies and salesmen.
