Ripped off in a public telephone booth on Christmas Day - doubled the cost of the holiday Worldwide USA Nationwide

Shops, Products, Services

On christmas Day my husband and I went to use the local public telephone booth next tothe post Office in a little Austrian town. It had a professional "Austrian Telekom" logo advertisment saying use your credit card to call to USA, Canada and Australia. We knew the rates via telekom Austria were better than our mobile so we used the service.

I asked the operator for rates and he said he could not tell me, but because they were using the Telekom Austria logo and board we believed we were dealing with them not BBG.

Well the homecoming was a US$500 bill for four short christmas calls to parents.in Australia. One call for US$300! There was no receipt, no display of call cost, no identification that you were dealing with BBG.

We used our mastercard. We see in the mastercard Merchant rules there are a whole lot of things that BBG are not complying with.

Anyway, stick to mobiles nd texts, or coins!
