At&t attempting to strong arm elderly

On 8-24-07 I called AT&T to make changes to my Home Service. The following months bill didn't show those changes. I waited a additional month to see if it would show up then, it didn't. So I called back, they inform me that my wife had canceled the order the same day I made it. That's a lie I am single and have been for years. They would only make the adjustment back to 9-24-07, I told them then it was not exceptable. I also asked to hear the recording of the person who supposedly calLed and canceled the order, I was given the run a round and double talk.

And because of this had the phone disconnected at that time. I have been trying to resolve this problem thru email with a Stephanie Estes (a waiting a reply from her now, to my knowledge she is unware of the following).

Yesterday I receive via US mail a letter informing me that if I don't pay the bill by 12-24-07 they'll terminate my phone service at another location in south Fla. File a bad credit report against me and a few other mics threats. My 80 year old sister lives at that location with me and needs to be able to call her doctors and/or 911. (I am making other arrangements for phone service at that location)

Now there trying to strong arm me with threats I'm 72 years old. I have told them I'll pay what I owe 48.35 that's all I owe. That's all I'm willing to pay They say I owe 82.62, there is a 34.27 difference. I am not going to be forced to pay for there mistake. If there was a problem with the original order I placed they should have called me, It's not like they didn't have the number to contact me. I have filed complaints with the FTC and the BBB as well.
