We initially contracted with this company in 2005 to have an ADT alarm installed and monitored. We paid for 2 years in advance which put us through July.in October when I still had not received any renewal notice, I contacted the company. The excuse I received was that they had problems with their biller and billing system. I was initially upset with this reason and demanded that they provide proof that my system was indeed monitored past July. When I verified this with ADT directly, I told Safety One that I would pay for a 1-year period, July July. When they sent me the bill, they billed me for July Oct at the incorrect rate and also for Oct Oct. When I notified them that the rate was incorrect and the period was also incorrect, they stated they would send a corrected statement. I demanded they do this before I sent payment. A week later, I still had not received a revised statement.

Just a week after I contacted them initially, I found out they also ran an unauthorized credit inquiry despite me telling the girl there that we paid in advance and they had no use for my social security number which I would deduce would NOT give them authorization to do this. I called and was directed to a person in their collection department who was never available and never returned my calls after leaving voice mails. So, I sent a letter by fax and with payment stating I had received no revised invoice and was making payment for July July and that I wanted to terminate my business with them effective July.in the meantime, I had also filed a complaint with the BBB. It took them almost 2 months to respond to the complaint, but they cashed my check immediately.

After all this, I thought I was done with this sketchy business. THEN, I received a statement directly from ADT showing a monthly balance for Jan. The bill also stated my account was on ACH (automatic bank withdrawal). When I called ADT, they stated that Safety One Security had transfered my account (which I told them I would do in July) and neglected to forward my payment for service to ADT.in addition, they also set up ACH for me without my knowledge or consent. Now, I have to contact them yet again and fax the invoice I finally received from them after having sent payment and a copy of my cleared check to ADT.

This company is a sham. I would NEVER do business with them again. They have been terrible from the start which was the installation that was a complete disaster. I should have known from their installation what kind of company this was. Beware! Do not do business with this company!!
