Ripped off by Handyman, Landscape

Roberto Miranda is a landscaper/handyman/pressure cleaner that works in our Brighton Meadows community in the Countrywalk area. He agreed to do landscaping work for us and he pressured cleaned our roof and house. The work he did was satisfactory and I agreed to hire him to paint the exterior of my house. He was supposed to start the work on 12/07. I agreed to pay him $1100 for the whole job.

On 12/02, he came to the house and asked if I could write him a check so he could start purchasing the paint in advance.in good faith I wrote out a personal check for $500 to cover the exterior paints for the house. He assured me that he would begin work on the 7th and I got home from work and noticed he had not done any work or even started.

Afterwards, I made further attempts to reach him and he ingnored my phone calls. He basically decided to run away with the money and not go through with the work or at least give me the paint for which I gave him the $500 to purchase it.
