Unathorized Credit Card Charges New York New York

I received a 3 month Satellite Radio subscription as a gift. I extended that with an additional 3 months for a small price and paid for with my credit card (call me sucker!). After a few months and getting sick of their crapy receiver, I let the subscription expire. Apparently, when I clicked on the "I Agree" tab to their terms, their adhesion contract has binded me to an automatic renewal of my account unless I cancel. How easy!

This is outrageous considering they have buried this clause in their 10 page agreement and have not asked for my explicit apporval. Why don't we all have automatic billing of our credit card by our grocery store every month irrespective of whether you buy anything until you call and cancel.

Apparently they have sneaked in a billing statement in one of these months between their daily spam about Sirius promotions that I have been filtering out. They have charged one my dormant credit cards for $70 and now I am facing a late fee of more than $100 for the five months of unpaid dues.

I have no idea what impact this is going to have on my credit history let alone the agony of dealing with my credit card company.

Avoid this virus!
