National water and power aka nw&p ripoff - orlando florida

I have lived in my aparment complex for three years and have always had to pay water/sewage fee and trash p-up. I have no problem with this until apt. Management changed billing service to NW&P close to 18 months ago. From the start, the water bill were sudenly much higher (80%) and NW&P also charges a 'service' fee which they raise whenever they feel like it and with no warning. I contacted NW&P about why such a sudden huge increase and asked for copy of meter or proof of total water used and they refused. They said they'll check the meter and the meter was ok. They said the water usage was calculated by sq feet. Ok, I live in a 3 bed apt w / my husband and my next door neighbour has 4 kids plus wife and his bill is less than mine??? Other neighbour's bill came $200.00!!! We all complain and they send a new lower bill (still over $100.00) saying the other one was sent by mistake. I called again and asked HOW they calculated the bill, if by usage or sq feet and all they said was to ask the apartment management. They could not explain.

It is very odd that these sudden huge spikes in usage never happened before with the previous billing company over a three year period, but with NW&P they happened almost immediately and happen every few months or so now. I just moved to another city and the management company is the same for both, ARCHON RESIDENTIAL. And I find out that here they have the exactly same insane increase on their water bill. The apartment complex and NW&P are both making extra profits from the water/sewer bill. They do charge water usage but pad the bill for maximum profibility, thus making profit for a service not rendered. Aptartment complexes like NW&P becasue it is a back door method of getting extra rent.

I am just waiting for my lease to expire to move out and and before I consider any complex the first thing I'll do is make sure NW&P is not the provider of their billing services and also check w / residents if they are not beig ripped off by any other way by management since It's a common practice as they go unpunished.
