I also was scammed by Ms. Jones. My situation is the same. I responded to the ad in craigslist came to the apt at 212 W. 133rd in March. I gave her the $125 registration/credit check fee. Once I passed that stage she requested I give the 1 month rent 1 month security so the apt will be put on hold pending my approval by HPD. She said it would take 2-3 weeks. Its beem more then 2-3 months and one story after another from Ms. Jones. I finally got tired of her stories and faxed over a request for money to be refunded in July. Here we are in October and I have yet to get my money. We really do need to get together and do something about this. I also filed a complaint with Det. Chavers at ther 32nd pct. Let me make a couple of suggestions. We should go to Help Me Howard website all of us and fill out that form on his site every day for the next 2 weeks. That might get us some results. We also should fill a lawsuit. I set up an email account with yahoo. Its called Letsgetkokay. Lets join together and make her pay. I also plan on persuing my complaint with the police dept. To the fullest. If I have to go to court to testify I will do that. So please contact me at that email so we can make Ms. Jones pay.
