I was promised NO termination fee and got one anyway!

My girlfriend and I went into the kiosk where Sprint phones were being sold. When I asked about switching accounts, the representative told us that if i switched from Nextel to Sprint and then cancelled the account, there would be no termination fee because of the 30 day free trial period. We made sure that this deal was legitimate so we looked online to make sure, and on the Sprint website, it said—

"If you're not completely satisfied with your phone, service or network, simply return your phone and deactivate service within 30 days of purchase. We'll waive your early termination fee and only bill you for access and airtime charges accrued on your account through the deactivation date." - (taken directly from sprint.com)-

This is very false advertising because it was NOT true. We were told they have done this many times before and that we would not have a termination fee if we did it as well. Both of us switched from Nextel to Sprint and did not have any better service.

We cancelled the accounts and even after the many promises that we would not have a termination fee, we were each charged a termination fee. We called the Sprint customer service and explained the situation and they said they could do nothing for us.

I only had a few months left of my account and if we had known that we would have a termination, fee we would have never switched. One of Sprint's own representatives told us that they could do this and now we are both stuck with $200 dollar fees to pay for something that could have been avoided without false information.
