INTELIUS Background check Scam Internet

Before I begin - I advise all readers: Always check usacomplaints.com before you buy ANY service or on-line offer - or ANY service you hear about on a radio or TV commercial. Here's my report:

I read on-line a legitimate and very helpful consumer article to get your own background check before you apply for a job, because if you are a victim of ID theft, there can be freaking reports on you - they use your SS# and name, address, phone #, etc. To commit every felony: drug trafficking, burglaries, even murder - and use all of your ID when they are arrested and jailed and then the felony count goes on your record! One guy - a great employee - went for 2 years without a job offer and didn't know why - yes - there were felony criminal reports on his background check after he had been a previous victim of ID theft!

Now comes INTELIUS. Before reading usacomplaints.com, I did a search for Background Checks and up pops INTELIUS as #1 - with a good advertisement - very believable. So I paid $78 to get California State and Nationwide background check and criminal report.

In about 30 seconds I got the report. All inaccurate - I mean - ALL inaccurate. I am a property owner and the property owner report was for the owner listed 20 years ago. There were 185 State of California felony reports (many with names close to my name, but not my name) and 108 nationwide felony and misdemeanor reports. It also included 300 marriages. There were 300 marriage reports. This report - even though I requested the report by my SS# (an option INTElLIUS supposedly offers).inTELIUS obviously search by my name on the Credit Card I paid with, NOT my SS#.

Can it be any worse? Here you go.inTELIUS has been known to provide your information to businesses willing to pay for it. So now that they have all my information including SS# - I am out there in the ID abyss once again!

Finally, after my mistake, I did a lot of research and found that most on-line background check services are a scam and a front to get your information to sell to marketers - one popular California background check service is now in court for selling our information to criminals.

I am now trying to find a legitimate background check service, and am having a hard time of it - I sm now going through local licensed detective services and plan to spend a lot of money. I also signed up for an ID Theft protection service - probably can't mention it in this blog - but now I am left with nothing but prayer to God that I am clear on my background so I can get a good job.
