Installation nightmare! Ripoff Murphy

I recently tried to have the new FIOS (fiber optic) service installed at my residence... It has turned into a nightmare. The installation was scheduled 10 days after I called, not a terribly long wait but requiring my taking time off from work as I was informed the installation would take 4 to 6 hours... The day of installation finally arrived, about noon a technician arrived, I was told they would call 30 minutes prior to the tech's arrival, they did not. No big deal I'm easy... I showed the tech where I wanted things installed and warned him to be careful not to let my cats out of the door, or to step on any of them, he had no problem with this... Aproximately an hour later the tech calls me to the garage, he informs me that he has installed the interface box but can proceed no further because he is allergic to cats... Coughing and hacking, he explains that someone will call to reschedule.

About 4:30 that afternoon I called verizon myself, I was on hold so long that by the time I finally spoke with someone the office was closed until Monday AM. You see, you must talk with fios as they are a separate entity of verizon. I did talk to someone who said a supervisor would call me... That weekend? They didn't say. So, anyway after not hearing from anyone all weekend, Sunday my phone quit working... Allrighty then, call Verizon right? Well not exactly, I have to talk to Fios because my service has been switched over to them... But it's my copper wire service that's not working, doesn't matter, have to talk to fios, oh by the way, everytime I talk to verizon they ask me how many cats I have???

I went outside to check the demarcation box on the outside of the house, we did have that nasty downpour the night before, maybe something go wet... I fiddled with the wires, pounded on the box with my fist, and went back inside... My wife is on the cell phone with verizon and they say my phone is working fine, well it is, now.

Today Verizon had the nerve to call me to reschedule the installation... I don't think so.

Not once has anyone other than a low level csr talked to me about this issue, no one has apologized or explained anything... To say I'm not happy with the level of service received is a gross understatement... What can I do? Somehow just not installing fios doesn't seem to be enough...
