Home Solicitation Contract with no contract and no 3 day cancellation notice given Ripoff

A representative of this company came to our house and we agreed to take one of their credit card machines. When they left we realized that we had received no copy of any signed contract with them, and were not given the 3 day cancellation notice which we should have been given, as it was a home solicitation contract. Therefore contract is illegal? (What contract? - we don't have one.) For a year now they have been extracting money from my husband's bank accounts. He has had to close his corporate account, much to his chagrin in order to stop any more bleeding from his account as we have not been able to cancel this monster.
