My cat did not return home on 5/15/07. I did all the usual things like flyers, posters, shelters, etc, then I searched for pet detectives. They wanted $650, but I made them promise that I would either get my pet back or get irrefutable prove of what happened to him.

A young girl showed up the next day with 3 dogs in a pickup truck. She had asked me to rub some cotton balls on my cats 'tree'. She took the dogs out one by one, and shoved the cotton balls in their face and said 'go find him boy'. I think that's a signal to them to start running.

Well, good thing I could run because they were flying. Each dog went in a different direction, and 2 actually crossed a very busy intersection where I knew my cat would never go. I was hoping that her dogs would lead to a garage where my cat might have been trapped. My neighbor told me that he saw my cat in his yard the night he disappearded, yet the dogs never went there, and they are supposed to pick out the freshest scent. Ther dogs run with their heads up, never sniffing the ground. They appeared to be looking to the girl for instructions.

After going for about 5 blocks they would stop and she would sauy 'lost scent? Lost scent?' - what a load of baloney. I didn'y pay the $650, but I offered her $150 which she took but didn't deserve.

Bottom line, the pet detectives play on the desperation of pet owners, and are making a killing doing it. I also found a pet psychic who gave me some free 'readings' which turned out to be worthless - at least he didn't charge me!
