Charge my credit card for $15 for payphone calls worth 50cents

On june 26th my father went into the hospital, I had to make 2 calls on a payphone
I did not have the right change of 50 cents so I used my credit card. I later found out that I had been charged 3 times in the amount of $5 for the use of the pay phone. The phone was owned by verizon which also charged me $7 and $6 for the 2 calls!!!
The payphone did not listed anything like these charges, it only said 50cents for local calls. I exspected I'd pay a surcharge or something say 10-50 cents but what they did both ILD and Verizon is unforgiveable. I have told my credit card to do a chargeback on everything... I don't know yet if it will work.
