Crooked lawyer - took my retainer, did nothing and unable to provided any explanation of what he took all my money for Ripoff

In March I retained Mr. Lishomwa Henry to represent me in Queens County Family Court when the Administration for Children's Services (ACS) charged me with punching my seventeen year old daughter. Mr. Henry charged me a retainer of one thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars ($1750.00). That was all he did.

On our first court appearance, my case was adjorned to a date, two months later because Mr. Henry did not follow the court orders. On this date he was supposed to have had a hearing on my behalf with the ACS attorney, the case worker and the law guardian to determine what direction the case would take. He did not.instead he had me bring my entire family to court. The judge was annoyed and promptly dismissed us. Sometime within the two months leading to the next appearance, Mr. Henry did not show up in court during a hearing to remove my daughter from my house. Subsequently the order was issued. Upon my questioning him about his no show he claimed ignorance, that he was not informed of the court date. He also did not show up the day of ACS executing the order despite my requesting his presence. On our last court appearance Mr. Henry arrived late, claiming that he was on another case, again to the Judge's dismay. I promtply fired him and retained another.

In August of my case was dismissed, all charges withdrawn.in March I sent a letter to Mr. Henry asking for an acccount of my retainer and any balance due. He did not respond to my letter. Two weeks ago, after I left a nasty message on his telephone, Mr. Henry called me to say he did not get the letter and yes he would send me the accountability of the retainer money.

Since then I have not heard from him.
