Lance Ott Don't sign the UNCANCELABLE lease! I did, and regretted it!

I also had a bucket full of trouble with Wholesale Merchants Service, which is affiliated with Lease Finance Group. Actually, it's been a couple years ago now, that a smooth talking salesman sold me on a new credit card terminal, better rates, and a $143.40/month lease on the terminal - for 4 years!!! I had no real trouble with the terminal, no big issues... And a year clicked past.

A different salesman from a different company came into our store, and showed me a better rate, and couldn't believe what I had been paying to lease such an inexpensive terminal! (Ok, I felt STUPID...) I signed up with his company, and went ahead on cancelling my lease with Wholesale Merchants Service, and Lease Finance Group.

WMS cancelled my service, AND ALSO deducted $920 from my checking account! Lease Finance Group would do no cancellations, as they informed me, I had signed a non-cancelable lease. (I was later informed that there is no such thing as a non-cancelable lease in the state of Minnesota...)

I wrote a letter to Lease Finance Group, threatening legal action, and got nowhere. Consequently, I figured I was out of luck... Then an attorney came along to help me out!!!

I, (with some great legal backing), got all the proper documents in order, and proceeded to obtain a court date. When Wholesale Merchants Services received their summons, they contacted me almost immediately, offering to refund the $920 early cancellation fee. Good start...

Soon thereafter, the legal department from Lease Finance Group contacted me, and we were able to settle with them also. However, without the help of our attorney, I was defenseless!

Don't sign it!
