Ripoff Inside Wireless Maintenance Service Plan

Recently, AT&T took over Bell South. I noticed on my bill a $6.95 charge for "Inside Wire Maintenance Service Plan." When I called AT&T to ask about this charge, they told me it was like an insurance plan in case I needed service to the wiring inside my house.
Sounds great. Only problem, I never ordered it. When Bell South became AT&T, this charge was added to my bill without my permission. Unfortunately, I am a very busy man and it took several months for me to notice this on my bill.
AT&T insisted I had this with Bell South. They were banking on me not having my prior statements. But, I do. And not one of the Bell South statements have that charge.
When I asked for a full refund on this unauthorized charge, they told me no. They claimed to have proof that I had this service prior even though I didn't. When I asked them to fax me the proof, they told me it would cost $4.00. That's right. It would cost ME $4.00 to prove THEIR side of the story. When I asked them to e-mail me the proof, they said they couldn't do that. How convenient. Bottom line, they couldn't prove it.
I encourage anyone previously with Bell South and now AT&T to look closely at their statements for this or other unauthorized charges.
It may not be big money. But a Class Action Lawsuit may be on the horizon for AT&T.
