Blue Whale Publications Liars, cheaters, dishonest snakes looking to take advantage of hard working people

I was so stupid to even sign up with these people. They were very pushy and forceful so I gave them my debit card information. They said that they would send me seven magazines a week for a low cost of 30 installments of like 30 dollars. When I decided to sign up, they asked if they could transfer me to a supervisor. The supervisor then asked if he could record my conversation. I, like an idiot, said yes.

He took all of my information and in the recording asked if I agreed to the terms. I said yes. He had told me when we weren't recording that I could cancel within a certain period of time. When I got off the phone, I figured no harm done, I would just call and cancel.

I called them to cancel the next day. The lady was very nice and polite. With the advice of the bank, I marked my debit card lost and thought everything was taken care of. I never received the confirmation letter that they had promised or any of the seven magazines a week like they had stated. Until yesterday I had forgotten about the whole thing. I was woken up by numerous calls from an (801) number. I finally called them back to see who they were. Turns out it was Luebke Baker and Associates stating that I owe $956.00. I laughed I thought it was a mistake. I argued with them for forty five minutes.in that time they had hung on me once, on my dad once, and threatened me repeatedly to send my account back as refusal to pay. I am not refusing to pay, I just want answers before I pay.

When I asked why I wasn't notified beforehand, they argued around the point saying that Blue Whale has me on recording stating that I would pay. When I asked why they conveniently don't have my cancellation recorded they screamed that I have to pay because in the recording when I signed up, it states no cancellations. Then when I was connnected to a supervisor, she said I was given a 72 hour period in which to cancel. I asked if I could contact Blue Whale to try and work it out, to get some answers as to why I never received any of their magazines or why I never received a letter or a call from them stating that I was delinquent. She said I would not be liable for a settlement, and they would report it to the credit bureau. She also said that I had made the first six payments from July 1 when I signed up until December 16th. Which is funny because nothing has shown up on my statements. Obviously, because I changed my debit card number, and I never received a letter from Luebke Baker and Associates about the amount I owe. I know they have my address because she read it to me.

Now I am lost, I have contacted the Attorney General in Fl and I am waiting for their reply. I have contacted a lawyer, waiting for their reply. I am just confused because no one should be able to get away with this nonsense. If I owed the money I would gladly pay. Paying would require less stress and effort than fighting it. But I am fighting because they are scam artists. They have gotten away with it with other people and I want to help stop them. They are liars, thieves, crooks and they are taking advantage of hard working individuals who had a lapse in judgement long enough to trust them.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. What they are doing can not be legal. They are deceptive and wrong. Also if anyone is interested in pursuing them with a lawsuit, let me know because I may be doing that in the near future.
