Gave me an estimate and marked it up 44% after more than 50% had been paid up front!

I recieved an estimate of $2950.00 for my move from Seattle to Colorado Springs. It was based upon 4150 lbs of belongings and 1400 miles.

My Load weighed out to 5000 lbs (or say they say, there is no proof of this) and I was told that each 1000 lbs over out estimate of 4150 was to cost $175.00, sounds fair right?

I paid in excess of $1600.00 up front when my merchandise was picked up. They now want $2585.00 to deliver my goods. Does $1600.00 and $2585 equal my original estimate of $2950? Not even close.

These crooks are supposed to deliver my good today (over a week late). To my astonishment my attorney points out I do not have a copy of any kind of contract and thinking back... He is correct, I dont have a copy of one because I have NEVER been given anything in writing.interesting? So here is my plan, and according to my attorney I am absolutely within my right to do this.

MWhen the movers arrive get the balance owed and if it equals more than our calculations I say "excuse me a second" I go inside and call the Sheriff and say I need a "keep the peace" This is an intervention by a Law Enforcement Officer to make sure nothing violent or furthermore, dishonest goes on. Do not say there is a contract dispute or the Law Enforcement Officer WILL NOT show up.

If I give them the money I feel I owe them, they take it and then they leave with my belongings anyway, not only can I press theft charges, but I can also report their license plate to the DOT, (which unfortunately has the only team consisting of about 6 people who handle the regulations for these crooks).

Granted I may not get my stuff today, but when I do get it, All My Son's and their contracted trucking company American Red Ball Trucking will end up paying me and all my legal expenses.

I am a mother of 3 small children ages 5,3, 2. We have been sleeping and eating on the floor for 2 weeks. I dont know how they sleep at night, I just want to put my 5 year old on the phone so he can ask them why he has no toys to play with.
