Fraudulent billing

On nov. 6th. 2006 my wife went to our family doctor for a sore and swollen thumb and to ask the doctor for a prescription for the new pills to help her stop smoking, the doctor wrote her a prescription for that and two others for medicine she was taken already. She paid her co-pay of $10.00 and left.

We then got our copy of payments from our insurance co. And there was a bal. Of $45.05 so my wife called our ins.Co. And they said that that an office visit for a mental health exam. Was not fully covered. She told them that she went about her thumb and there was not ever an exam or talk about her mental health. She then called the doctors office and that told her it was put under the wrong code and that the doctor would re submit the charges under another code. My wife has called them 10 or 15 times about this and we have now got letter from them that the are going to turn the $45.05 bill over to a collection agency. She called them again and they said they would call her back last friday.

We do not owe the bal of $45.05 and it should be removed from out account. We fell we are being harassed because we are senior citizens
