This appears to be WAY after the fact, but I agree with the complainant. I also used to "work" for HireBug, and it sadly turned out to be a scam. Unfortunately, I was not as discriminating as the first person posting, and got sucked in.

They do make it sound amazing - for both "employees" and prospects. Then, once lured in, you find out that there's not going to be a big salary, as promised.

Fortunately I didn't waste alot of time there (I think I only got one, small, paycheck), but it was a waste of time. I was doing better than most (and getting all sorts of pats on the back), but all of a sudden was told I was not "up to par". BUT, they said, I would continue to earn commissions on the clients I had signed up. HA!

Within a short period of time after I was dismissed, they no longer occupied the "virtual" office I had worked in. Now, you can't even find a website for them, and the phone number listed in the first post is disconnected.

As far as the second post, from the oh-so-sincere unbiased employee - HA! What a joke; SURE, we'll look him up on their website - only two problems. First, he only gives his first (common) name. Second, WHAT website?! As with everything else HireBug, it has evaporated into thin air!!!

As for the owners, who apparently are affiliated with or are the creators of one of those boy bands (BackStreet Boyz?), they are scandal-ridden. I learned this when I started smelling a rat after joining the company from this or a similar website. Well, they certainly don't seem to have cleaned up their act.

So, the lesson, if there is one, is to be skeptical, like the guy in the first post. People suck! (That's why I prefer animals - they're the only (sentient) beings worth anything on this earth.) Caveat Emptor! Etc. (And stay away from the founders of HireBug and that boy band; I think they're also involved in modelling - another snakepit of an industry. DO YOUR RESEARCH/DUE DILIGENCE!!! You can't get back your wasted time.'nuff said..

EXCEPT: look under Hirebug (no space vs. Hire bug) for additional complaints...
