Fraudulent checks, letters

I received a letter and check from the above mentioned company informing me I had won money in a lottery. Enclosed was a check for 2,990.00 I received a second identical letter and check the following week. I filed them away for my own safety as I had previously been badly burned by another company operating with a Canadian address.

I am sending this to warn others as well as warn people about getting involved with companies in other countries offering you to act as a receiver of checks for them, taking a commission and then wiring to rest of the money to them.in one word—DON'T DO IT!
