A Scam!

2nd Tier Winner Status! I received a letter in the mail last week telling me that I had been awarded a lump sum payout of $99,500, from a total pool of $6,487, 800. A check in the amount of $2,600 was enclosed to be paid toward the winnings. The check was supposedly from one of their financial sponsors, Malina & Associates, P.C.in NYC. Johanna Anderson 403-400-0821 is the person I was directed to call.

First I called Chase Bank. The routing number was fine, the account number however was closed. I called Malina & Associates and asked to speak to their accounts payable department. I explained why I was calling and I was told that the account number on the check had been stolen from them.

I then called back the Nationwide Sweepstakes company and told them that their checks were no good. I was told that wasn't possible because it was a certifed check. Wrong!!! Certified checks from Chase have serial numbers on them, (there isn't one on here)!!! Not too mention the telephone number is listed to a land line in Canada, but the woman insisted that they had call centers all over the country... Yeah ok!!! Don't buy into it! This is the third one this week for me, I could wallpaper my room if I get more...
