Misleading and Dishonest Billing Company Ripoff

I received a telephone call from a sales representative who offered me a package of travel discounts, long distance service and some other services. The first words out of my mouth were "Are you trying to sell me something." To which the sales rep replied "No, Ma'am, I just have something to offer you." I listened to his pitch and after asking several times if I would be charged without calling and telling them to do so, and being assured that I would not, I agreed to speak with his manager. Again I clearly asked if I would be charged without calling and telling them that I wanted the service. Again, I was assured I would not.

Short version-they lied. My account was charged for $149. I was automatically signed up for each of their so-called services. I called and canceled each service. I was forced to wait on hold and repeatedly call until I thought to enter a different number other than the one they had on file. That worked and I finally got through. After speaking with several different people, I am assured now that all is canceled and I have only to write a letter including my name, address, and telephone number, and a statement as to why I want a refund. I was assured that as soon as I do so, I will receive a check for the full refund amount.

If I do not get anywhere with the letter, I will be contacting the police and filing a report with my bank, closing my account and reopening a new one.

I want to make sure that anyone else involved with this company knows that if they are persistent and use a different number, they can get through. As for the Lucid service, they need to press # to get an actual representative.
