Animal Grub (PET STORE) in Lake Stevens is not service oriented, or honest, in our opinion. Do not shop there, you will be sorry

My wife and i purchased a small kitten form thier store on 7/23/00. They promised that this cat was litter box trainied, but provided instructions on how to introduce this cat into our home. Thie kitten never used the litter box, during the four weeks that we owned her. She would poop on the walls, the carpet, the food dish, and the edge of the litter box itself. We followed all of thier recommendations, provided by several telephone calls to thier store. The owner of animal grub would never speak to us, despite repeated requests. I then took the kitten to our vetrenary, and had his "new cat examination". The vet listened to our concetrns and concluded that the kitten was either taken away form his mother too young, or had never really been litter trained. The other possability was that the kitten was mentally impaired, as he was negative for any virus or infection that could cause this. We tried everyt [possible solution to train this kitten, even leaving him outside overnight, but then he pooped on the welcome mat, and the patio table. We even tried keeping him in a small travel kennel with his food, water, and litter box inside. Even then he pooped on the door, and avoided the litter box. We did return the kitten to our store, but they refused to give us any refund. The owner refused to return our calls, and did not accept our calls, having her clerks relay her refusal to assist us or provide a refund. There are many pet stores in the area, and it is important that you have a place that you can trust to be honest and provide healthy animals that live up to thier expectations. We do not recommend that you even buy dog treats from this store, as thier "buyer beware" philosophy that they have demonstrated to us, does not deserve to be supported by local residents.
