I received a letter in the US Mail stating the following:
"Claim Number: DTS-583-4462-GUI
NB: THIS IS A FINAL NOTICE
We are please to inform ou that you are one of the lucky winners in the second category draw of the National Mega Millions Sweepstakes also known as the American Direct Sweepstakes held on January 5. Entry MP-249-Y64 was attached to your name and matched the first five lucky numbers: 8-29-52-4-78 hence making you a winner! You have therfore been approved for a lump sum of $195,000 (ONE HUNDRED NINETY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS). Payable to you by certified check.

Golden Investments has been contacted by the American Direct Sweepstakes to find winners who have not yet claimed their winnings and assists them through the claiming process. Attached is a check of US $4850.00. This is a portion of your winnings and has been releases to you to help pay Insurance as well as Shipping and Handling fees. The total amount is $2900.00 to be paid through Western Union or Money Gram.

I had a friend of mine recieve a letter similar to this about 6 months ago. Fortuantely she was smart enough to take the check to the bank that is was supposedly written on. The bank stated the check was a FRAUD. When I received my letter, I immediatley call my "claims agent" I was told by the woman that answered the phone that the office was already closed and that Mr Daivs had already left for the day. She told me I could go ahead and deposit the check and then call him back tomorrow and he would give me the rest of the information. Needless to say I will be calling my local law enforcement in the morning and the local news to make sure that no one falls for this. I am makling this report so that hopefully anyone who checks the internet for this company comes across this and doesnt fall for this scam. I am not proceeding any further with this. This is a scam. When you win a sweepstakes you DO NOT have to send them money in order to get your check. Please beware!!!
