Trader steals from employees. Ripoff

I left the Trader Publishing (Dominion Enterprises) in Carrollton, TX in March. I gave notice on a Tuesday and was told by my supervisor, Howell Nkosi, that a 9-day notice wouldn't be a problem since I had worked there for over 4 years, the vacation pay I had accrued would not be affected.
My last day of work, I had to be rushed to the hospital at 8 am due to internal bleeding caused by Crohn's Disease. I was in ICU for 6 days. I missed half of my first week at my new job.
As the weeks went by, I still didn't receive the vacation pay that I was owed (about $600). I called the corporate office in Norfolk, VA and was told that I had given a 9-day notice, which isn't a full two weeks. I was told that I had forfeited the vacation pay by not giving a full two week notice.
The lady in HR was very kind, but basically said it was my word against Margie's and Howell's. Howell Nkosi is scared to death of Margie, and he knew he had messed up when he told me that 9 days was OK. His only option was to lie to HR and tell them that the conversation had never taken place. I was told that I would not get the money I was owed and that was that.
I called Margie and Howell several times to discuss this very distressing situation. I left voicemail after voicemail after voicemail. The cowards know that they screwed me and don't want to deal with it. My girlfriend still works there and they can't even look her in the eye.
It is my fault for not getting the 9-day notice agreement in writing, especially after witnessing many other dishonest practices, such as theft annd sexual harrassment, with no action being taken. I take responsibility because I knew I was dealing with snakes and I should have known I was going to be bitten.
For anyone pursuing a position with the Carrollton Production facility, I urge you to reconsider.
