Brides Nightmare Store Rude, Unreliable ripoff

The fun never stops at Valeries if you are a bride or a Bridesmaid. As a Bridesmaid I have watched the bride endure never ending stress with this store.

While the staff greets you with a smile your first visit, it is a gimick. Once you spend hundreds on your dress, they forget all about service!

The dress took a month longer to get in than we were told. Since we would not have time to order a new dress and it hadn't shown up after 8 months, we couldn't get a straight answer from the store. The first of many ambiguous replies.

Then even by the second fitting, the correct size petticoat had not arrived. With a final fitting to occur in a couple of weeks it would be nice to know if the petticoat length would be ok.

The worst "non-answer" were the shoes. When ordered, they were supposed to take a week. One week went by, no shoes, two weeks, no shoes, three weeks-getting the picture? Everytime we called, it was another week. The clerks were talking about the bride and her shoes with the bride in the dressing room-they didn't even have the decency to talk to her or go where she couldn't hear.

I went on-line and found the same shoes. I contacted the web site and they can get the shoes to us in a day. Hmmm, the store we called was in NH, the bridal store said they go through a NH place. And this place has a huge selection? NH isn't that big of state and isn't filled with dyeable shoe stores. Do you think the bridal shop could be having some real issues?

Now all of this was just the bride. We didn't fare much better as bridesmaids. When we were looking for our dresses we went here first. After one of the staff was finished insulting my 135 pounds as being "Larger", and remarking the top "wouldn't do"- (no kidding, it's 3 sizes too small and we were showing her the color and neckline, we weren't ordering it) she proceeded to get a little too friendly running her fingers down one of the girls mid sections.

In a bar that would have been considered assault since no one was asking her to touch any of us. To top it off, she outright insulted by bride by telling her she had to pick her dress for her bridesmaids before picking any colors for her wedding. Maybe all of New England is out of touch because most brides I know have a color scheme in mind and the dress will compliment it. Of course this not so spring chicken, who was definitely more than my larger 135 pounds found a dress in the color were were looking at but pulled it off the expensive rack.

The thoughtful and considerate bride said, "No Way" she wasn't going to ask everyone to spend that much money on a dress. The "Lovely" staff person skoffed as she made remarks about the bride. Needless to say, we bought the bridesmaids dresses somewhere else.
