Ripoff offers free gift if they can test your water but refuses to give the gift at close of demonstration

Rain Soft called me for a very short survey. A few days later, they called to say I had won a free, no obligation gift, and they only wanted to test our water. The free gift was a two night stay at a hotel (there were to be many choices of nice hotels to stay at).

I was very skeptical, so I had the lady call back and talk to my husband. He agreed to let someone come out and test our water and give us the gift. The lady said it would take 45-55 minutes.

When the man came out, he tested our water and demonstrated his purifying system for about an hour and a half. I did not stay in the room for this, although the man invited me to listen as well.

When I finally came in, I asked if my husband had received the gift yet. He said no, but that he was sure he would be getting it any time. At this point, the salesman said that in order for us to receive the gift, "both decision makers in the home" had to be listening and participating in the presentation.

He claimed that we were told this on the phone, which we were not, and of course, he hadn't bothered to mention it either. He said we already knew that, and he was just doing his job.

So, after wasting an hour and a half of our time, and much more because of the upset he caused, we have nothing to show for it.

By the way, the water purification system is incredibly expensive. You can pay about $160 a month or several thousand dollars to buy it. Supposedly you will save this much on soap and other cleaning products.
