Dishonest theft poor bad customer service steal change in vending machines humiliated soldier ripoff

An example of HEB's poor customer service and an example of their dishonest ways:

1. My mother-in-law went to get a soda from HEB while she was waiting on me to finish shopping there (the first time I ever went to HEB). She went to every single vending machine and came back with no drink; yet somehow every machine managed to keep a portion of her change.

2. My husband had just returned from Iraq and went to get groceries at the local HEB grocery store. He only had his checkbook and his driver's license (which had been cracked overseas) as a method of payment and identification as we hadn't found his military ID yet (our two-year old had hidden it in her carseat). He spent two hours getting everything on our list, as well as extras. He waited in line, and asked the cashier if it was ok to use his cracked driver's license as proof of identity with the checkbook. She said it was fine, so he unloaded all the groceries and proceeded to write a check for the amount. The supervisor walked up and saw his ID lying next to the checkout. She told my husband that they wouldn't accept it, after he had verified he could, and the cashier rang up over three hundred dollars worth of groceries.

My husband went to see the manager, who agreed with my husnband's point of view until that same supervisor came up and put him down. My husband walked away having wasted over two hours and a check, as well as being embarassed by the supervisor and feeling that he couldn't provide for his family.

Since then, my family and other friends with personal negative experiences with HEB have bycotted and are continuing to boycott HEB products and services. It seems that HEB doesn't place any priority on customer service, and I'll try to get my friends to put their experiences down on this site as well.
