Bait-N-Switch

This company is a classic example of the bait-n-switch technique used by electronic retailers. They get you interested with an ad, but when you come to purchase the product, it is sold out, but not suprisingly they have a similar model for just a little bit more money. The only difference here is that you actually agree to one thing that Body-of-Change is offering, then after they get your money, you don't get what you signed up for, which is illegal and they should be held accountable for it.

Example #1. I was told that if you give 24 hours prior notice of not being able to show up for a training session, it would be re-scheduled an not count against you. However, when my job took me to New Orleans for 1 week, I called and gave my 24 hour notice, but when I returned there was not any documentation that I would not make my appointments.

Example #2. I was told that when I signed up, measurements of my body fat %, weight, and other areas of my body, such as my waist would be taken and noted. This process would continue monthly until my membership was over with me actually seeing results in a journal that my personal trainer was to keep. Also included in this journal would be what I did on the previous workout, i.E. How much weight and how many reps. Still have not had my 2nd measurements taken. When I reported this to management, they assured me that is not acceptable, and it would change. After asking 3 times when it was going to change, I grew tired and called the corporate office, upon which I would talk to a gatekeeper, and was assured for another time that this was not acceptable and a manager from corporate would call be back the following day before close-of-business. This call should be coming any minute, as this was more than 3 months ago.

I have now cancelled my membership according to my contract and received proper documentation in return acknowledging that Body-of-Change received everything. I also would like to mention that I put final payment on my check for half the remaining value of the contract and Body-of-Change cashed it. I have saved everything and hope BOC is not going to continue to charge me, will keep you posted on the next update around the 2nd week of February.
